Another Tear-Jerking Christmas
Song
Here’s another tear-jerking
Christmas song
About some poor buzzard,
everything had gone wrong
Economically challenged, clothes
out of style
And at this time of year lived
without a smile
Then a child saw this buzzard,
made the little boy cry
And spoke to his daddy with a tear
in the eye
Said, please don’t give me any
presents this year
Use the money on the poor buzzard
right over here
And I hope you feel guilty as I
sing this song
At least until the next Christmas
carol comes on
So when you hear the bells at the
local store
You put into the red bucket. . . a
quarter or more
Well, his daddy said, “That’s the
Christmas spirit”
And said it in a way that the buzzard
could hear it
“But remember that your mama is
gone
And you and me barely have enough
to go on”
When they got back to their new
Hummer the little boy said
What-cha talking ‘bout, my mama’s
not dead
His daddy said, You just listen
here, I said that
‘Cause the buzzard would just buy
another beer
And I hope you’re feeling guilty
as I sing this song
At least until the next Christmas
carol comes on
So when you hear the bells at the
local store
You put into the red bucket. . . a
quarter or more

Words and music by Bill Griffin
I wrote this while out Christmas
shopping on Black Friday. I heard another one of those songs which is designed
to make you feel guilty and I had enough. I pulled off the road into a Burger
King parking lot, got a piece of scrap paper, and penned this song. (I wrote
this the same day I wrote "Bring Those Funky Presents Santa".)
