The Freshman Blues

They said that this was youth camp

I'd have a lot of fun

And then they went and stuck me in

English 101 [one oh one]

I didn't know to come here

I'd have to learn to read

I thought that watching TV

Was the only skill I'd need

And I've got the freshman blues

Don't even have time to snooze

Yeah, it took me by surprise

And really opened up my eyes

Oh, the freshman blues

I took a trip to campus

A year ago last spring

They took me to the caf'

And fed me lots of tasty things

But now I am not certain

Just what is on my plate

It smells a lot like something

That I use for fishing bait

And I've got the freshman blues

Don't even have time to snooze

Yeah, it took me by surprise

And really opened up my eyes

Oh, the freshman blues

When I was back in high school

All I had to do to pass

Was try to pay attention

While I's sitting in the class

But now I'm here in college

The first test got me shook

I didn't realize to pass

I'd have to read the book

And I've got the freshman blues

Don't even have time to snooze (except in class)

Yeah, it took me by surprise

And really opened up my eyes

Oh, the freshman blues
